Special Populations is Personal Trainer "lingo" for anyone who has a limitation that will effect their ability to exercise. Limitations include High Blood Pressure, Diabetes, Heart Problems, Arthiritis, Knee/Hip Replacement, Back pain, Migranes, Pre/Post Natal, Recovery from Operations etc etc.... If you are in the above list, you should not be exercising without professional supervision. You need to avoid certain exercises, and be able to exercise pain-free. You are risking injury (or Worse!!) if you think you can just join a big public gym and throw yourself into exercise. I can help you to achieve your goals while working around your limitations. I have experience of working with clients who have had all of the above conditions. Improving the quality of life for these clients is a very rewarding experience for me and I take it very seriously.

Whatever you want to call it, everyone wants to drop a few pounds, look better, feel better, have more confidence, fit into that dress, look good on the beach etc.... Fitness is basically a measure of how well your heart and lungs can transport oxygen.
I would say that less than 10% of my clients have put fitness at the top of their list of goals on day 1. The good news is that all types of training will make you physically fitter. Fitness will help you reduce stress, have more energy, sleep better, be better at your job and have more energy for family and friends.
If you have a sporting goal, (eg: Run a 10k) you can be specifically trained for fitness. Also there are some occupations that require a fitness test eg: Fire Brigade. If you need a big improvement in a short period of time, you can achieve that too.
For those of you who want a physique that will turn heads, you really need a good trainer. Do you think that those guys/girls on the front of fitness magazines just go to the gym a few days a week and magically end up in that shape? If it were that easy, everyone be walking around looking like fitness models. You can transform your appearance in a few months. If you've been lifting for a few years and have hit that dreaded plateau, I can help you bust through that brick wall. Most people couldn't care less about their posture. Well, you really should care.
A simple way to think about posture is that some muscles may be too tight and others too loose. This combination of loose and tight muscles can lead to your body being pulled out of allignment.
POOR Posture can cause sciatica, migranes, rounded shoulders, arched back, your tummy "sticking out", neck pain, stress, tiredness and inhibitted sports performance.
GOOD Posture can relieve all sorts of pain, help you run faster, lift heavier and perform better inside and outside of the gym.
Your programs will always have an element of postural correction in them. Foam rolling, activation and stretching come as standard. After the initial postural assessment, I will improve your posture and exercise technique on an ongoing basis so that you can perform at your best and reach your goals quickly and safely.
